Kelcy Warren, a name synonymous with the American energy sector, has left an indelible mark on
the industry. As the co-founder and executive chairman of Energy Transfer, Warren has guided the company from its modest
beginnings to a leading position in the market. 

Born in the rural East Texas communities of Gladewater and White Oak, Kelcy Warren started his journey with a degree from the University
of Texas at Arlington. His first significant role was at Lone Star Gas Co.,
followed by a position at Endevco, a pipeline and refining company. It was
during his tenure at Endevco that Warren met Ray C. Davis and Ben Cook,
investors who would later partner with him in founding Energy Transfer in 1996. 

Energy Transfer initially managed a small network of natural gas pipelines in East Texas.
However, under Warren’s leadership, the company seized opportunities in the
market, especially in the wake of the Enron collapse. This turning point
allowed Energy Transfer to acquire valuable assets at competitive prices,
significantly expanding its reach. 

One of Kelcy Warren’s most noteworthy achievements came in 2012 with the acquisition of Sunoco.
This deal was not just a strategic business move but held personal significance
for Warren, whose late father had spent his career at Sunoco. The acquisition
was valued at $5.3 billion and marked a monumental step in Energy Transfer’s growth. 

In recent years, Kelcy Warren has continued to steer the company through further acquisitions,
including Enable Midstream and Crestwood Equity Partners, enhancing Energy
Transfer’s presence in key regions like the Permian Basin and Bakken Shale. 

Looking forward, Kelcy Warren envisions Energy Transfer expanding internationally, with a focus
on North and South America. His ambitions also include growing the company’s
footprint in the LNG and petrochemical sectors, ensuring that Energy Transfer
