Salt Lake City, Utah is the birthplace of Whitney Wolfe. Her father Michael is a property developer and Kelly her mother is a housewife. She studied at Southern Methodist University majoring in International Studies. Her interest in entrepreneurship started back in college when at age 19 she began selling bamboo tote bags. Shortly after her graduation, Wolfe moved to Southeast Asia and worked with various orphanages.
