The Achievements of Louis Chenevert and his Contributions to UTC
Louis Chenevert is among the most influential men in the business world; he attained a Bachelor’s degree in production management from HEC Montreal. He is an influential man with strong principles and leadership skills that are adopted by business leaders to achieve success.
For fourteen years Louis Chenevert worked in general motors and was later made the production general manager. In 1993 he was employed in an aircraft engine manufacturer company by Pratt and Whitney, at his time at aircraft engine manufacturer the company experienced significant milestones and this was attributed to his business prowess. He was later appointed as the president of the company.
Louis Chenevert also worked as the vice-chairman of the executive committee of the business council in 2011 and 2012.
Chenevert has continued to shine in his career as a businessman, and in 2006, he was appointed as the chairman and the chief executive officer of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).
His Role at UTC
During his time at UTC, Louis Chenevert played an enormous role in raising the standard at UTC, and he aided in increasing the company’s share price from $37 to $117 an increase of up to 200%. This success placed UTC on top of the business chart as one of the most profitable business in the United States of America.
He also broke a record by making the most significant aerospace deals in the history of United States after he made a procurement for Goodrich for $16.3 billion.
Louis later resigned in 2014 as the Chief executive officer at UTC, but his legacy remained.
Contribution Towards the Environment
Louis Chenevert was also an environmental conservationist, as he ensured that the company, UTC produced user-friendly and eco-conscious products, he also ensured that the greenhouses gas emitted was reduced by 26 % and the consumption of water was reduced by 53%. This goes a great way in making sure the environment is safe for future generations and Louis made it his responsibility to do so and also urged other companies to mind the environment.
Due to his professionalism and success, Chenevert has been honored and awarded a doctorate honoris causa by HEC Montreal and was also named “person of the year” in 2011 by Aviation Week and Space Technology magazine.
In 2015 Louis took on another path to be an exclusive advisor in the Merchant banking division Goldman Sachs and is currently there.
