Increasing Security by Demystifying Prison and Cell Communications
As Securus Technologies, we are a United States prison tech company founded in 1986 and with an approximate employee population of 1000 people, both from America and neighboring countries. We are based in Dallas, Texas, where we are headquartered. Securus Technologies runs regional offices in Carrollton, Atlanta, and Allen, Texas.
In our database, Securus Technologies has contracted more than 2,600 correctional institutions in the United States alone, and some 2,200 more in Canada and the Caribbean countries. With these statistics, we are able to proudly state that our investments have gotten to the $600 million mark as at July 2016, in acquisitions, mergers and operational patents.
Managing Contraband Cell Phones
In an effort to contain contraband cell phones, Securus introduced the ‘Managed Access Solutions’ platform, which received the go-ahead from more than 5 Departments of correctional and prison facilities. Our partnership with Harrison Corporation in July 2016 saw the introduction of the ‘Cell Defender Technology’, which prevented contrabands from connecting to the mainstream mobile networks.
Customer Comments on the use of Technology
At Securus Technology, we have received thousands of letters and emails regarding the technology and infrastructure built, both from inmates and their families. It is an honor to serve and protect the community and the entire country’s security concerns.
One of the clients pointed out the strengthening of Securus’ investigative capabilities, which has enabled the firm to improve jail security and posture. The evolution and development of this investigative mindset and its accompanying tools will go a long way in bringing sobriety to the correctional facilities.
Another client was grateful for the assistance provided by our tracking team. The customer alerted our team on a covert alert feature which he constantly received. Upon launching investigations, the feature aided in getting the suspect into custody for more investigations.
